The Green Lantern will have his movie !
Quotted from yahoo Movie:
This movie will be based upon the long-running character as published by DC Comics (on and off) since 1940, who has taken on several forms, but has always been a superhero who derives his ability from a green ring. The original Green Lantern's ring was magical; the latter Green Lanterns rings all came from the Guardians from the planet Oa.
As of this writing, it is unclear which version of Green Lantern will be adapted, but it's likely to be one of the characters whose ring has its origins in the Green Lantern Corps, an interplanetary police force organized by a race of aliens from the planet Oa called the Guardians. Using his ring, Green Lantern can shape and produce green energy of fantastic power that can be used to create solid objects, shoot energy bolts, and give Green Lantern the power of flight (including intergalactic travel).
I'm really glad to hear that the Green Lantern will adapted to the cinema.
I think this superhero deserves it. The question is: will the production choose a black actor or a white one? (question of version ;-p)

It will be John Stewart because the director read comics in the 1980's and he has a hostory with both The Green Lantern Corps and The JLA also John Stewart took over as green lantern during the 1980's as stated in Wikepedia After Jordan gave up being Green Lantern in the 1980s, the Guardians selected Stewart for full time duty. Stewart filled that role for some years, during which time he married Katma Tui, the Green Lantern of the planet Korugar who was initially assigned to train John in the use of his ring. Kat and John served together within the Green Lantern Corps of Earth alongside Hal Jordan, Arisia, Kilowog, Salakk and other alien Green Lanterns.
It may be John Stewart's version but don't forget Hal Jordan started the JLA and that in itself may be too much story to take on, they would have to add other superheroes to use Hal's version. I'm wondering this, wouldn't they have to show the origin of the ring? In that case they would have to fill the role of Alan or Guy
Who cares if he's black or white?
hmmmmm..if you don't care..I doubt you know or care a lot about comic books..
